Half empty or half full?

Today I learned how to make this kind of photographs! The technique is incredibly easy and doesn't require any special equipment! I did NOT apply any photoshop effect or something like that:)) it's pure photography. I only used Picasa for cropping and straightening (ok to be completely honest, i made one of the pics a little bit darker:P)
